ACCESS
We would like your visit to the Queen’s Theatre to be an enjoyable one. When booking, please let the Box Office know of any specific requirements for you and anyone in your party.
Parking
- You’ll find the entrance to Billet Lane car park (7 blue badge bays) on Theatre Road, these are free for TAX Exempt Blue Badge Holders. The entrance has a height restriction of 6′ 6″ (feet/inches). Additionally, there are three allocated parking spaces for blue badge holders at the front of the building (no charge) with a lowered kerb point to allow wheelchair access to the pavement.
Main Entrance
- There’s a sloping ramp or thirteen (13) steps to the main entrance, which is illuminated at all times. There are two sets of doors, one automated, to the main entrance.
Foyer & Café
- The Box Office is located in the foyer. The counter is 4’ (1.2 metres) high.
- There’s a wheelchair accessible toilet in the café foyer. RADAR keys are available from any staff member.
- The café is located in the foyer. There is a dropped counter. Tell us if you would like your order brought to your table.
Bar
- There are stairs and an accessible lift down to the Bar area, where there are toilet and baby changing facilities, and an accessible toilet. RADAR keys are available from any staff member.
Auditorium
- The entrance to the Auditorium is level with the foyer. There are shallow steps with a handrail to all rows except for row E. There are spaces for four (4) wheelchair users in row E.
- There are 20 seats in Row E which are reserved for customers with specific access requirements.

Auditorium Infra-Red Transmission system
- If you are hard of hearing or wish to utilise the Audio Description, we have an Auditorium Infra-Red Transmission system to assist you. You’ll need a headset or necklace which you can obtain from the Box Office, and return to the Front of House staff at the end of the performance.
Sign Language Interpreted Performances
- We use BSL (British Sign Language) for the 6 productions as part of our Jump the Q season and panto. Please ask at the Box Office for the best view of the interpreter as this can change from production to production.
Assistance Animals
- Assistance animals are welcome to join you in the theatre. If you need your assistance animal to stay with you during a performance you need to inform us when booking, as we have limited spaces.
Relaxed performances
- Aimed at anyone who might benefit from a more relaxed environment, particularly those with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder, sensory and communication disorders or learning disabilities. We consider everything from sound and lighting cues, stage action and seating plans, signage and refreshment service. If the show is in the main house, we offer extra flexibility when booking seats, so if you know you need a little extra personal space you can request that the seat next to you remains unsold. A quiet space outside the auditorium is also available if you need some time away from the crowd.
Dementia friendly performances
- We work closely with people living with dementia, consulting them on the changes needed for the show and front of house environment. We consider everything from sound and lighting cues, stage action and seating plans, signage and refreshment service. If the show is in the main house, we offer extra flexibility when booking seats, so if you know you need a little extra personal space you can request that the seat next to you remains unsold. A quiet space outside the auditorium is also available if you need some time away from the crowd.
