Both our venues have level access points, ramps, lifts and adapted toilets available for customers with disabilities. Assistance Dogs are welcome in both the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall. You can take your dog into the auditorium or you can use our dog sitting service. Bowls of water are available if required. Please advise us of your needs at the time of booking.
We offer an infra-red Sennheiser transmission system to relay sound to customers with impaired hearing. Headsets and neck loops are available free of charge from our foyer Access desks. Customers and their companions are welcome to visit the Theatre prior to attending a performance in order to familiarise themselves with the venue’s layout. These visits can be arranged through our Access Officer.
Reduced price tickets are available to customers with disabilities, subject to status and availability. Should you require the support of a carer or companion, you can join our Access Requirement Register to benefit from a reduced price on their ticket, too.
If you have a query about accessibility, please contact our Access Officer Emily Malen via email
Our Box Office team are also available to assist you at the Box Office Counter or by phone on 0115 989 5555– the Box Office is open Monday to Saturday 9am – 8.30pm. The rest of the venues will be open one hour prior to performances. Level Access

Ramps
Ramped access to the Theatre Royal is to the far left of the portico entrance. These doors are automated. During performances, ramped access to the Royal Concert Hall is available from Burton Street.
Lift Facilities

Stairs
In the Theatre Royal, we would advise customers who require level access to seating to book seats in the Stalls. In the Theatre Royal we have a lift that services all foyer levels and the Dress Circle restaurant. However it should be noted that there are flights of stairs to reach seating inside the auditorium on the Dress Circle, Upper Circle and Balcony levels. All levels of the Royal Concert Hall are accessible by lift. There are a small number of stairs to reach some seating on Tier 1 and Tier 2.
Toilet Facilities
Both the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall have adapted toilets available for customers with disabilities.
Wheelchair Positions
Wheelchair spaces are located in the Stalls and the Dress Circle of the Theatre Royal auditorium and in the Stalls and Tier 1 in the Royal Concert Hall. To view seating plans for both venues click here.
Scooters and large size wheelchairs may require the allocation of two standard size wheelchair spaces. Please advise us of your needs at the time of booking.
Wheelchair Transfers and Walkers
Our staff will look after your walker or wheelchair once you have transferred to your seat. Disabled Parking
