Sign Language
Wyvern Theatre organises sign-language interpreted performances and discounted tickets for some of the biggest shows of the year. Please ask at the Ticket Office for information on our forthcoming signed performances.
Hard of Hearing
Both venues have a wireless infra-red (Sennheiser) system, this technology uses an invisible infra-red light to connect sound source and listener.
Sennheiser Infrared audio transmission systems are an effective alternative to hard wired systems.
Listeners wear an infrared receiver with headphones, headset or stethoset.
We provide two different types of Sennheiser infrared receiver to be worn by the listener. There is a choice for the listener between the stethoset type or necklace type.
At the Wyvern Theatre, these items are available free from our cloakroom in the lower foyer.
At the Arts Centre, these items are available free from the duty manager on the evening of the performance.
For more information or advice please call 01793 524481 and speak to a member of the Ticket Office.
Accessible Seating
For adults who require assistance to attend either venue, we offer one complimentary carer ticket with your booking when one of the following is presented to a member of the Ticket Office staff:
- proof of Disability Living Allowance
- proof of Attendance Allowance
- Certificate of Visual Impairment
At both venues, we ask patrons with wheelchairs to note that Wheelchair spaces are designed for standard size wheelchairs – if you have a larger size wheelchair please advise when booking.
Toilet Facilities
Wyvern Theatre has two accessible toilets. One is situated in the lower foyer which is accessible from the stalls and through the ground level external entrance to the theatre. This toilet also includes baby changing facilities. The other is situated inside Box A in the upper foyer between the Ticket Office and our Cafe and is accessible through the Theatre Square main entrance doors. Both of these toilets use the RADAR key system, and although we do hold a spare key, we would encourage patrons to bring their own key to access these facilities.
At the Arts Centre we have one accessible toilet, situated just off the main foyer as you enter the venue.
Disabled Parking
The Wyvern Theatre does not have its own car park but council controlled car parks are available near to the venue. More information on car parking can be found here.
The Arts Centre does not have its own car park but Brittania Place, a council controlled car park is available near to the venue.
