ACCESS FOR WHEELCHAIR USERS & THOSE WITH LIMITED MOBILITY:
The Auditorium and the Ground Floor Studio is accessible to patrons in wheelchairs. There are three designated wheelchair spaces in the Auditorium which can be booked through the Box Office. Please explain your particular Access requirements when you book your tickets and specify if you are able to transfer or need a wheelchair space. If you are transferring please let them know the type of chair that you will be transferring from to ensure that we are able to store it whilst you watch the performance.
For patrons who are unable to attend performances unless accompanied, two of the wheelchair spaces have adjacent companion seats. Advance booking is recommended due to the limited availability of these seats.
Both the Box Office and Confectionery Kiosk have wheelchair accessible counters.
Accessible Toilet: There is a wheelchair accessible toilet on the ground floor. Please note that this toilet does not contain a hoist system.
VISUAL & HEARING IMPAIRMENT SERVICES:
Guide & Assistance Dogs: Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome at the KMT. Please inform the Box Office when booking your seat that you are bringing your dog to ensure that you are booked into the most appropriate and spacious seat for you and your dog.
We can provide your dog with water and a member of staff can take you to your seat.
A hearing loop system is installed in the Auditorium, the Box Office and Confectionery Kiosk and we offer two types of hearing enhancement aids. Please collect your Aid from the Box Office and return it to them at the end of the performance. The Box Office may request some form of identification when you collect your audio equipment, purely to guarantee the equipment is returned and available for other patrons' future use.
Induction Loop Necklace: These are suitable for patrons already wearing a Hearing Enhancement Aid and are worn around the neck. Please switch your Aid to the 'T' setting and the sound will be amplified. The necklace has an adjustable volume control.
Headset: These amplify the sound from the stage through earpieces (similar to regular headphones). This is suitable for patrons without a Hearing Aid.
BSL Interpreted / Signed Performances: Signed performances are for the benefit of patrons who use sign language. Trained British Signed Language (BSL) Signers usually stand to one side of the stage and interpret the script used by the performers at the same time as it is being performed.
Any BSL interpreted/signed performances will have the logo (above) on the printed publicity and online.
Seats with the best view of the Signer are restricted from general sale and only available direct from the Box Office, as these are set aside for patrons who require a good view of the Signer.
AT SEAT SERVICE:
Our Front of House staff can take your order for refreshments, merchandise or kiosk items and bring them to your seat, both before the performance and during the interval. We can only accept cash payment at present.
CHILL OUT AREA:
If possible, we will provide a chill out or quiet space in our Theatre. If you think you might need a Chill Out area, please contact the Box office in advance to discuss your specific requirements and we will do our best to arrange something suitable for you.
