Venue Access Information (Theatre Clwyd, Mold)Updated 7 days ago

HYNT – ACCESS SCHEME

HYNT LOGOArt and culture is for everyone.   But if you have an impairment or a specific access requirement, often enjoying a visit to a theatre or an arts centre can be more complicated than just booking tickets and choosing what to wear.

Hynt is a national scheme that works with theatres and arts centres across Wales to make things clear and consistent. It’s also a resource for anyone who needs specific access information to plan a trip to the theatre.

We are part of the Hynt scheme as we believe it offers our customers the very best practice in fair ticketing policy and accessibility.

Hynt is a Membership Card

Hynt cardholders are entitled to a ticket free of charge for a personal assistant or carer at all the theatres and arts centres participating in the scheme. Click here find out whether you or the person you care for are eligible for a card or click here to apply.

Hynt is a Resource

www.hynt.co.uk provides a range of useful information and guidance on the scheme and how it works. It’s also a resource for anyone interested in information or news around access and the arts. The site features listings of all accessible performances as well as providing up to date venue information to help you plan your visit.

We will be happy to talk you through the scheme and our part in it.  If you would like to speak to a member of Theatr Clwyd staff, please contact 01352 701521

The tunnel linking the covered car park and the theatre is not wheelchair accessible.

Captioned Shows
During Captioned performances (by Stagetext) the words will appear on screen positioned in the auditorium at the same time as the actors speak so that people with a hearing loss can understand fully. For the best seats to view Captions please contact the Box Office on 01352 701521, or [email protected]

Visually Impaired

Described Shows
Described Performances are provided for most Theatr Clwyd productions.  Audio Description is a commentary that describes body language, expressions and movements, making the performance clear through sound.  A ‘touch tour’ of the stage is available before the performance starts. A touch tour is a free, supplementary event for anyone with visual impairment who has purchased a ticket. It’s a chance to visit the set, meet the actors, feel the props and costumes and enhance your enjoyment of the show. It will be 1 hour prior to the performance.

Cinema
Audio description and soft subtitling are provided where available from the distributors. Screenings with this facility will generally be on Saturday afternoons and Tuesday evenings. Please check with the Box Office on 01352 701521.
