Changing Places facility
The Changing Places toilet is open at the hall to anyone with profound disabilities and who needs additional space and support for changing. The room contains a hoist, an adjustable changing bed, a toilet and an adjustable wash basin - with enough space around for carers and mobility vehicles.
Please ask a member of staff for a key to access the room, which is on the right hand side of the building, the Garden Suite side, and past the disabled toilet.
2 for 1 Carer Scheme
Disabled patrons can purchase two tickets for the price of one on selected shows as indicated on the website and in the brochure if they are in receipt of one of the following:
- Middle or Higher Care Component of the Disability Living Allowance / Standard or Enhanced Daily Living Component of the Personal Independence Payment.
- Higher Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance / Enhanced Mobility Component of the Personal Independence Payment.
- Certificate of Visual Impairment.
- Letter from their hospital of doctor confirming that they are disabled (this must be the original letter and not a photocopy).
- Attendance Allowance (Disability Living Allowance for patrons over 65).
Patrons need to supply the Box Office with proof of status (financial information can be removed) to register for the scheme. Once logged they will be able to purchase two tickets for the price of one for 18 months before having to supply proof again.
Wheelchair Users
Please inform the Box Office at the time of booking seats if you or a member of your party is a wheelchair user so that an appropriate position can be allocated. At present it isn't possible for wheelchair users to book their tickets using the on-line booking system though you can e-mail the Box Office at dmh.office@leicester.gov.uk with contact details to ensure you are accommodated.
Lift
De Montfort Hall has a lift with access to the first floor Circle bars and Right Circle seats.
Toilets
the accessible toilet facilities are at ground and upper circle level and are signposted in the building. Accessible toilets are locked using a RADAR key system, which staff members have available if necessary.
Assistance Dogs
The venue welcomes assistance dogs and are happy to look after your dog during the show, as long as prior notice is given.
Accessible Parking
Accessible parking is available to blue badge holders and is free. Spaces are limited and we strongly advise booking in advance at the time you book your tickets.
Loop System
Patrons using a hearing aid with a 'T' switch can collect a receiver and loop prior to a performance from the cloakroom. These do not need to be booked in advance, but proof of identity will be required.
