Throughout the venue, there are a range of different facilities and equipment to support audiences and visitors with access requirements.
During your visit, the friendly Front of House team are also on hand to support and to help make your experience as enjoyable as possible.
Access Steward
There is a dedicated member of the Front of House team to support any visitors with additional requirements that need any assistance throughout their visit. This role involves having an oversight of the entire audience experience, and should you need to speak to them at any point they will be available to help.
Hearing support
In the main auditorium there's an infrared hearing system to support those who need enhanced audio for our shows. To use the system you will need to collect an infrared headset. There are two types of headset available; one receiver that works with a hearing aid and another that works with standard headphones. The venue encourages visitors who wish to use headphones to bring their own personal headphones as we are unable to provide these. They should have a 1.5mm audio connection.
In the Bloomsbury Studio, and at the Box Office there's also an infrared hearing system to support hearing aid users. You do not need a headset to use this system, but need to put your hearing aid onto position 'T'.
Quiet spaces
Currently, there's not a designated quiet space within the Bloomsbury Theatre. The Bloomsbury Café, is usually closed during evening performances and at the weekend. This is often the quietest space directly attached to the theatre, however it is still part of the public space. You can find the Bloomsbury Café opposite the Box Office in the entrance foyer.
Should you be attending one of the performances and need a quiet space for any reason, you can speak to the Front of House team who will do their best to find somewhere appropriate.
Assistance animals
Guide and hearing dogs are welcome throughout the venue and performance spaces.
If you would like to take your animal companion into the theatre, please contact the venue directly or let them know when making your booking either by updating your access record or speaking to the Box Office. They will then be able to make sure you have the most suitable space to sit for the performance.
Customer lifts
The venue is set across different levels, so step free access is provided by using the customer lifts in the building. These include platform, glass fronted and enclosed customer lifts. For more information, and pictures of our lifts, consider downloading The Bloomsbury Theatre Visual Story.
There is step free access to the Bloomsbury Studio without the use of lifts, however they are currently unable to provide step-free access to the main auditorium without using lifts.
Toilet facilities
The venue has a range of toilet spaces throughout including gendered, and single-cubicle inclusive/accessible toilets. The closest accessible toilet to the stalls is on the ground floor, just to the right of the Box Office through the doors marked 'Student Union'. Please note that this is not step-free from the stalls and access will require use of the platform lift.
The next closest toilets to the stalls area are on the Lower Ground floor. You can get to these facilities either by taking the stairs to the left of the Box Office, or the main lifts in the entrance foyer. These facilities include male and female toilets, both with an extra-wide cubicle, and a separate accessible toilet. These are also the closest toilets to the Bloomsbury Studio.
There are further toilet facilities in the circle, including an accessible toilet. Please note that there are 10 steps required to access the female toilets.

Blue Badge Parking
There are a limited number of on-street parking spaces on Gordon Street for Blue Badge holders. These can be found on this Camden Council parking map. Please note that the Blue Badge scheme does not fully apply in this part of central London where it applies only to:
- blue badge bays (if time limit shown, also display clock disc with arrival time)
- paid for parking bays with payment, 1 hour of additional parking is provided after the expiry of your parking session.
